A little request: when we've got more than one of our Katy/Katie's playing in the same tournament (or even more than one of our Emily's) could posters try and put the initial of the surname in. Just dipping in quickly can get a bit confusing as to who is the subject of the posts (especially as I have a bit of a blind spot as to which player has a Y and which an IE in their name).
Last year our collective results got better as the Australian series wore on, and we only really got any useful results towards the end of the 9 week stretch.
Earlier weeks had us failing to progress through qualies, with 3 players (Boulter, Christie, Dunne), then made up to 5 (joined by Dart, G. Taylor), all struggling to make impact.
In the first 5 weeks down under in the 2017 Pro Circuit, those five players had won a combined total of just five main draw matches between them, from a combined total of nineteen entries.
This week in Burnie hasn't exactly inspired great confidence about things turning out differently this year - two losses from a set up, and one from 5-1 in the third set TB.
We managed to come good in the end though, with each of the final four weeks yielding at least one QF, and 14 total MD wins over that period; a final for Boulter, and a Semi for Gabi.
Not sure if this 2018 trio are going to be supplemented at all, or whether they intend to play the full Aussie swing. Boulter obviously has Fed Cup to interrupt the run.
This was one of only two $60K amongst a staple of $25K in the series though, and the chance for those really good points is gone. Unlike last year, when the $60K were back-to-back at the start of the run, at least this year there is a while before the next $60K, which is 19-25 March, to get into some sort of productive form.
Otherwise, it's $25K each week, and a round or two there doesn't really help any of them progress significantly, even if they manage it every week, the gains will be minimal.

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
Next week at Launceston, Katy D, Laura and Gabi are all in the main draw. The following week at Perth, Laura is the only person currently in the main draw, with Katy D top of the q list, so should make main, and Gabi #3, so also could.
Laura really needs something to happen for her in these two tournaments. Currently her doubles performances (and ranking) are considerably better than her singles. Once Gabi joins it will be interesting to see where her game is at.
I keep hoping Laura's doubles successes will give her confidence and feed into her singles play.
I sometimes wonder whether Laura might eventually decide to concentrate on doubles if her singles results don't start to improve this year. She has managed to attract some excellent partners and could probably make a decent career of it if she wanted to. Of course I hope it doesn't come to this...
Can be confusing can't it ! Fortunately there is only one Katy (Dunne), but the Katie's and Emily/Emilies are confusing
Although there was a Katie Dunne in my results post earlier. I could say that a bit of copy and paste relies on reliable source material But I must take responsibility for work published in my name. Amended.
And The O's general point is taken on board re clarifying who is meant.
F: (3) Vania King (USA) & Laura Robson CR 226 (94+132) vs Momoko Kobori & Chihiro Muramatsu (JPN/JPN) CR 655 (242+413)
Very good win for Laura with a very good partner and joining Joe S+ and Brydan K+ in overnight doubles MTB success. Having beaten the #1 seeds in the SF, in the final they face two 19 yo Japanese who have beaten the #2 and then the #4 seeds in their QF and SF matches.
F: Laura ROBSON/Vania KING (GBR/USA)defeated Kobori/Muramatsu (JPN/JPN) 7-6(3) 6-1
Well done
This is Laura's third pro doubles title, and her equal biggest, along with last years $60K in Las Vegas. All on hard courts.
She has now won a doubles title in each of the last three consecutive years.
