Jonathan gets a ranking:

QF:  (WC) Jacob Fearnley & Connor Thomson UNR defeated (1) Walter Trusendi & Matteo Viola (ITA/ITA) CR 786 (243+343) by 7-6(8) 3-6 [10-7]

Trusendi obviously worn out by his three-set win over the top seed in the singles this afternoon!

SF:  (WC) Jacob Fearnley & Connor Thomson UNR vs Neil Pauffley & Marcus Willis CR 1029 (805+224)

Marcus & Pauffers had better watch out!

That's a lovely little doubles ranking for our juniors, Jake and Connor.

Connor is just 17, born 2001. And Jake is 16, also 2001.

Thrilled for the two of them

Pretty surreal experience I imagine.

Neil 4-6 0-0*, broken in the 10th game for the set, having previously saved 3 BPs, didn't have a BP himself

Marcus 3-2*, on serve with no BPs yet for either player.

Tougher opponents in the quarters (one through, one on court atm), but would be good if they could both make it and meet in the SF

Good stuff, though in truth I have difficulty getting enthused about Marcus beating a WR 469.

It makes you wonder what level Marcus could be at if he was playing tennis seriously? I see he is entered in all 3 futures events this month, so at least giving it a go for now. Looking at his results over the past year, there is everything from wins over top 200 players to losses to 700 or below; he is probably playing at a top 400 level but surely if he gave it a proper concerted effort he would really be playing Challenger tour events and hold a ranking in the top 200?
