Wow, that previous page graphic really does provide incredible detail blob, and I guess makes Europe the most competitive region overall, as well as the region with by far the most 25k tournaments. South America, considering how many tennis players come from the region, has almost no 25k tournaments, which says something, Asia I suppose is gradually growing the number of events held there.
And yes, in respect of Indy's comments, I can see the argument for Katie at least getting matches under her belt.

I was struck by how weak the US events were compared to Europe, and how close they in fact were to the Asian events, which are perennially described as 'weak' - which is true, but the gap to the US is far smaller than I imagine is the common belief, or that gives rise to that label.

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
Yes, I agree, and the fact that these first few US events early in the year are in fact real outliers compared with those later in the year that have much weaker fields. The first few events in Europe too are even stronger than these US events. I guess we'll see soon enough once the Glasgow field is confirmed, which will be in fact the first 25k event in Europe this year.
Great graphs thanks as expected at 25K level Europe stands out as offering the highest and most consistent standard of competition. Relatively little scatter.
Things went south from that MTO, which was in the middle of a game. She lost the next 4 points after that, 2 on her opponents serve (the score had been at deuce) and then two on her serve, and then she lost that service game. I hope Katie is all right.
