Maybe?

If he wears Kyle's outfit throughout the tournament you owe me a beer

Some interesting comments in Stu Fraser's report on the match in today's Times:

One noticeable change is how much more animated and vocal Edmund is, as part of a concerted effort to stamp his presence on the court.  Rather than keeping his emotions to himself, he is now displaying positive body language through fistpumps and little nods towards his new coach, Fredrik Rosengren, an energetic character who offers much visible encouragement in return.

"He is very passionate," Edmund said.  "He just loves sport and competing.  He's been around for a while.  If you ask anyone, they'll say that's what he's like.  He is just really into it.  When you're playing the match, it just feels like he's playing it with you.  It's obviously good when you look across and your coach is right there with you."

Encouraging...

And towards the end:

Edmund may be the sole British representative in the men's singles draw, but he does no feel alone down under.  On Friday night, he joined Andy Murray - who is having rehabilitation sessions in Melbourne after his hip surgery last week - and Leon Smith as a number of players and coaches associated with the Great Britain Davis Cup team enjoyed dinner.  "It was just nice to get together," Edmund said.  "It's been a while since the Davis Cup."

Love that piece Stir crazy.. Thanks, but for my part that pink outfit is simply horrific..

Meantime the doubles before Kyle vs Istomin goes into a second TB, so shortly either be all over or into a third set.

In a repeat of the 1st set, Kyle breaks in the 1st and 7th games to take the 2nd 6-2 as well.

Well it doesn't get much better than that as Kyle completes a straight sets and straight forward win. Served superbly and didn't face a single break point in the entire match.

L64: Kyle Edmund WR 49 beat Denis Istomin (UZB) WR 60 6-2 6-2 6-4

L32: Kyle Edmund WR 49 vs Nikoloz Basilashvili (GEO) WR 61

Edit

I should add that getting this match done and dusted in under 90 minutes is a big bonus given the 4 hour match in the opening round.

Edit:  just added Istomin's & Basilashvili's countries.

He is looking very impressive so far.

Winnable next match and if he gets through that it's Seppi or Karlovic in 4th round!!

I wonder how much Karlovic will have left in his legs after a 12-10 5th set win over Sugita.
