First tennis match Ive had a chance to follow even on live scores this year and what a match it was! Thats a career best ranking scalp and Kyles work in the off-season must have done wonders for his stamina to be able to come from a set down and 2 sets to 1 down - very well done!

Very good result and istomin in round two is certainly a winnable match. See Isner went out today and Kohlschreiber as well, how is the court speed playing from anyone who has seen any action?

Brilliant scheduling for me - not! Flight to Melbourne from Brisbane left at 10.55. Had free wifi on airport bus so watched live score for final 2 games. Brilliant win for Kyle means I might get see his next match live. Picking up tickets later and hope to see Jo tomorrow. Very thankful to have some ongoing British interest.

It is 04.30 hrs here in Brazil. Was struggling to sleep since I got here around midnight so woke up to check the scores. Its going to be impossible to sleep now because of the adrenaline rush. Thanks a bunch Kedders.

But that is a seriously good win in so many ways. Get in there.

What is his likely route to the title ?

Good win, was always likely to be an even contest, Kyle has looked a solid bet for top 20 for a while now, blew a big lead against Sock in the Paris Masters. Pink outfit looks better with black shirts as worn by Jack Sock (who is struggling against Sugita).
