British Tour 2018

I'm copying the addict's post across to a new thread:

'Just a quick post while I remember.

Tara, Freya and Laura S are entered in the Premier Tier event at Loughborough starting on 02 Jan .'

As stated in the men's section, the "first" event of the year was at Graves.

Kira Reuter beat Megan Hopton in 3 sets in the final.

Thanks Michael - I was about to go out, so didn't have time to start the thread.

Freya is also down to play at Billesley the following week

Great to see Bronte Murgett take a set off Freya, will give her next opponent plenty of encouragement!

Semi finals

Tara Moore [1/351] def Kira Reuter [8] 6-2 3-0 Retired (Tara probably not getting the practice she wanted, that's her second win by retirement in three matches)

And one against the formbooks
Nell Miller [4] def Freya Christie [2/542] 5-7 6-3 6-4

I've not seen Kira Reuter play, but I've heard good things - good scalp beating Laura S

The only one of those that I have seen is Nell, but that was two years ago when she was only 15, and she has obviously made big strides since.
To beat Freya is pretty impressive given her lack of senior experience.

I've posted a few things in the last year about Kira Reuter who has had some very impressive results recently, especially for someone who has had major knee injuries over the past three years.

Do hope her retirement today was nothing too serious.

Nell looking like a great signing for Texas Tech they know all about Freya who was a finalist in the 25k they hosted in 2016

Wow that win of Nell's against Freya really IS eyebrow raising. Freya may still just be warming up for the year, but assume so is Nell. Congrats to her, and indeed looks like she should do well at college in the US!

Well, well ! Very impressive indeed.

Hasn't Nell gone 'missing' for quite long periods after being highly talked about a few years ago? Injuries? There certainly seems to be quite a player there. May she progress well at college.

It looks like Nell missed 6 months in 2017. Seems to have had a few outings in seniors in 2015, played mainly Juniors in 2016, and has played a bit of both in 2017. I suspect it might be mainly British Tour and some GB ITF qualies this year, if she is studying though.
