RE: Week 1 - ATP 250 - Qatar ExxonMobil Open - Doha (hard)

Aljaz still has the Union Flag against his name in the ATP live draw, so for now:

L32:  Aljaz Bedene WR 49 (CH = 45 in November 2015) vs (WC) Malek Jaziri (TUN) WR 98 (CH =  47 in February)

Following Djkovic's withdrawal, Thiem is the top seed.

The drawsheet has been updated to confirm Aljaz's switch of nationality.

But we have action in the Doubles here.

L16: (1) Jamie Murray & Bruno Soares (BRA) CR 19 (9+10) vs Marcin Matkowski (POL) & Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi (PAK) CR 71 (40+31)

Whoops, missed it because of all the discussion of Liam's qualifying match.

Jamie and Bruno showing as up to WRs 6 and 7 respectively in today's rather radically ( for now anyway ) revamped doubles rankings.

Thumbs up from them on ditching 2017 Slam counters

Phew animated emoticon  Thought they were going to blow that after going a break up in the second set & then losing it!

The ATP rankings have gone all funny again:  I've left Jamie's & Bruno's as they were yesterday, but if you click on their names on the live scoreboard now, they've reverted to 9 & 10 respectively, while Jamie doesn't even feature in the Player section!  furious  confuse

Good stuff, though Jamie and Bruno have been restored to their WR 9 and 10 positions. Lukasz Kubot managed a day or two as clear WR 1

PS: 9 &10 are correct, it was the ATP temporarily missing out Slams ( minor detail ! )

For some reason, I half-expected that outcome.  hmm
