I'm not sure that Maia really deserved that second set having served for it 3 times and blowing all three opportunities, so hope she has more confidence on her serve in the QF match
Congratulations to Maia, who wins her 41st match of the year thus becoming the GB womens 2017 leader for match wins.
She dethrones Johanna who had led at every point since week 2. Jo's 40 wins did come in 3 fewer matches than Maia's, so Ms. Lumsden still needs more 'W' to catch up in terms of win %, though Jo does not lead that stat.
Of those with >5 matches played, Win % Leaders are:
1: Emily Arbuthnott (68.18%)
2: Johanna Konta (67.80%)
3: Francesca Jones (66.67%)
4: Maia Lumsden (66.13%)
* Sabrina Federici leads in strict terms of win %, having won 4 of her 5 matches (80.00%)
Maia will not play the fourth seed next, but her conqueror, Victoria Muntean (FRA)

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
Victoria Muntean was a high-flying youngster (national champion at least once, and right up there most years). Was always talked about in the same breath as Fiona Ferro. Big tennis family (younger sister Sophie - born 2000 - is a serious player too).
But like several of them, she hasn't really transitioned into anything amazing. (A sign maybe of just being very well coached and invested in tennis but without much more). Nothing to be scared of.
