We're at 2 hours 5 minutes and Eden has her nose in front in the final set, albeit on serve.

3-2*

Not to be for Eden, but a great fighting effort.
The battle to break into the top 500 continues with Beth, Emily and Maia all playing this week.

Not to be

Saved 2 MPs, then had a BP, but couldn't save a third MP.

Miriam's ranking is based on fairly few tournaments, and she had tended to well or very well when she's played, so that was no disgrace at all.

Eden and Beth's late season form has been a real positive this year. I hope they both have a nice long pre season to build on this in the new year.

Indeed. I had actually just been thinking the same about that pair earlier. Been very good to see

It's looking like Eden will just miss out on the top 500 in Monday week's rankings but does anyone know that for sure ?

For once the sports cliché about, 'taking the positives' should apply to this this loss. A good performance despite the defeat.
In the last 7 weeks, Eden has played 6 times, and it's been a very positive picture.
$15K - Final
$15K - R32
$25K - QF
$15K - Win
Did not Play
$15K - QF
$15K - SF

That's a decided and consistent mark up on earlier this year, or anything in her career to date.

The question in 2018 will be whether she can acclimatise again to another new level, and start to live at $25K level, in order to progress once more - a step with which so many of our pllayers have struggled.
Exciting prospects though for the viewers!

The best info I can find right now for live rankings shows that 500 is on 64 points, and Eden is at 514 on 59 points.
Steven's tables indicate 63 points. Looks like it will be close but not quite enough.
