Ah I saw Jonny tweeting about this when they reached the final and couldn't figure what it was about. What's his college connection ?
Good to see Pippa Horn involved. She looked a big prospect about 6 or so years ago and she sounded very ambitious for a good future pro career. I think she had a lot of injuries.
Anyway well done to them

I think Jonny attends the University of Life Actually I couldn't work out the connection either but he is clearly eligible to play.
He won his singles match 7-6 in the 3rd having saved 4 MPs on the way. Judging from his tweets I would say he was pretty pumped by that result. Personally I am also glad to see him playing (and enjoying) some singles matches again. His doubles progress with Scott has been fantastic to watch but I still feel he has a lot to offer in singles as well.
Good win and against a decent US College side (all sophmores from Southern Californian colleges with exception of Redlicki who finished this year ) although it could have been stronger had they not restricted their selection to half of one state admittedly one of the hotbeds of Tennis worldwide. Our team is about as strong as could be put out (post grads chucked in) , the rules must allow a broader group of students to play as not all the players would be NCAA eligible. That is a healthy thing as the NCAA has a fairly warped definition of a college student due to its obsession with shamateurism.

Stirling Uni were offering tennis scholarships even back when I went 1998-2002. So perhaps he has taken one of those. It's the same route Colin Fleming went down.
