That's the first Fed cup tie I've seen on TV, and I didn't realise that it was such a one man and his dog affair. Is that normal? I've seen bigger 'crowds' at my local $10ks.

I think part of that was that we were the very last action of the week, Estonia had already played, everyone had gone after that. So, the only people likely to still be attending were those in Talinn interested in braving the perishing cold on a Saturday afternoon to watch the random countries of Hungary and GB play each other, and wher there wasn't a trophy to be won, just the vague naotion that these countries qualify for a chance to do something else somewhere else, later, and with the prospect of two matches with over 150 ranking places between each of them, and unlikely, to the uninitiated, to be terribly competitive.
But, the man in the hat is far better placed to comment about the relative normalcy of such occurrences.

This is another reason Judy Murray was so frustrated with the format and the fact that the Fed Cup team could never experience the type of support the Davis Cup men get when playing at home - and even when away, still play in stadiums that are full of atmosphere, as just happened in Spain.
Other teams in the playoffs draw with Gb are Japan, Paraguay, Latvia and Ukraine with Canada most likely to join us and then loser of Russia and Slovakia and Spain v Italy.
