An amazing week for Emilie comes to an end.
1-6 1-6 today can't tarnish the excellent achievement. Points, 3 best ranking wins, qualified, MD, QF!
Well done. What next?

She will struggle to get in qualifying with no national ranking.

Clearly on fully subscribed lists, but there are plenty that are not including some of the regulars.

At the intersection of two useful points then, best hope is that Emilie can repeat this performance at least twice more, get a ranking, and secure entries on merit.
She'll be in next weeks qualifying draw in Stellenbosch, at least, so fingers crossed for a second counter, and then a trip or two to under-subscribed Hammamet or similar, if possible to continue.
Al that is presuming Emilie plans to play regularly at all.

Chanel Simmonds lost the final to a junior qualifier. Interestingly courtesy of one of the US tennis tweeters, it turns out that said qualifier has her own connections with South Africa: www.gazettes.com/sports/feature-ewing-family-has-strong-tennis-roots/article_bb0017f2-a603-11e4-b298-57529376556b.html. Well done to her mother and well done to her.

Wow, that is some story. Indeed congrats to both. For Salma to take out Chanel Simmonds, as a 17 yr old, she must have some talent. I note that today she has only just won her first round match this week - well, two tight sets, against another Dutch youngster.
