Is David Goffin the worst player to reach the WTF final?

Does Goffin reaching the Final of the WTF confirm this era is the weakest it has been for many years. 

Goffin:

Has won 4 titles ( 1x 500, 3 X 250)

Never reached a Masters 1000 Final

Never gone past the QF of a Grandslam (reached 2 x QF).

 

He makes Davydenko and Nalbandian look amazing.

Compare when Davydenko reached the tour finals final:

Had won 3 X masters 1000

and reached 4 x grand slam semi finals

 

When Nalbandian reached the final:

Had reached 3 x masters 1000 finals

Reached 1 grand slam final, 2 semi final and 6 QF

Either way good luck to him - he's beaten world number 1,2 and 4 in same week, so deserves some credit. Amazing end to season for him and he has a Davis cup final in two weeks also

Oh don't forget grosjean in 2001 or James Blake in 2006,goffin stacks up ok against them, certainly Blake

No, Goffin is weaker than Grosjean and Blake, this is why-

 

When BLAKE made the final he had:

Won 8 singles titles

Reached 2 x grand slam QFs 

Reached the final of a masters

 

When Grosjean reached the final he had:

Won 2 singles titles

Reached 2 gran slam semi finals

Reached a masters final

 

Goffin has no place being in this final, and hope he is beaten.

 Nadal was injured, Federer put in his worst match of the last 5 years,  Goffin's level is so bad even mugtrov owned him.

All the best to him. Tennis, indeed sport in general, is often about seizing opportunities. Some are better at that than others.

Thankfully, fairly often things do not go to script.
