That's the short straw Summer has drawn since no-one else in qualifying has a ranking at all, but still she may have an outside chance. Her junior ranking would suggest so anyway.

Summer is playing well - wouldn't be surprised if she came through qualifying

Well done, Summer.

This was an FQR match so through to the main draw.

Here's hoping Eden can keep up the good form.

Young Lucie W (born 1999) is the player discussed recently on the Sunderland thread (she beat Beth but lost to Maia). Coming back from injury but having trouble re-finding her elite status.

Fiona C is really no great shakes. Over-ranked even at 900. Has got higher because she plays week in, week out. But wins very few matches. Lost to Tiff 4&0. And to Laura D. She's gone 7 events, I think, losing in R1. Don't know quite what Summer's level is but, short of an absolute wildcard, she couldn't have asked for much better.

Thanks for those insights CD; here's hoping Summer can get her reward for coming through the qualies :)

Good fight there in the second set, from 4-4 to 4-5* and recovered well.

Excellent. Point!
Never doubt a CD form assessment.
