MJC *2-0. She has started well in all three sets, lost her way in the 1st held it together (just about) in the 2nd, let's see if she can now finish off. I have to be somewhere else in ten minutes so I will have to await the result when I return in n hour or so.
What a cracking effort from 14 year old M J.
Deep in to the third then, as her opponent serves for the match, but here are 3 break back points at 40-0*...
Augh! all disappear. Deuce
3-6 6-1 4-5*

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
Q1: JANSEN FIGUERAS, Helena (GBR) UNR lost to GONZALEZ, Montserrat (PAR) 2 412 0-6 3-6
Q1: CHANGWEREZA, M J (GBR) UNR lost to DONATUS, Loeth (NGR) UNR 3-6 6-1 4-6
Service statistics in set 2 are revealing. MJC 7/8 won on 1st serve 4/11 on 2nd serve, so she seems to have an effective 1st serve when it goes in. Loveth Donatus 2/9 won on 1st serve and 3/12 on 2nd.
I was thinking that was an awfully small sample to judge anything much.
And actually when looking overall there was nothing particularly signficant with MJC's serve stats other than a rather low first serve in percentage (44.3%).
First serve points won 19/35 (54.3%) - 7/13, 7/8 & 5/14
Second serve points won 17/44 (38.6%) - 7/21, 4/11 & 6/12.
Not special in this match when first serve in, though as I indicated she could still do with it going in more, and it looks a fairly standard variation between first and second serve points won percentages.
All that said, good looking effort by MJC and hard luck.
PS: I've actually subsequently noticed that she had 15 DFs so generally getting serves in was an issue. And it also means that overall her second serve points won when in percentage (17/29 = 58.6%) was higher than her first. So that certainly is an area that hopefully will improve over time, whether an ongoing issue or a particular one in her first ITF senior match.
