Very good opening from Ms. Dunne.
Then to start set 2, there were 3 consecutive breaks; Katy had 40-0* to make it four, and level back up, but lost 5 consecutive points.
6-1 *1-3
Meanwhile, a decent bit more fortune for Ms. Robson here, as #7 seed Zaja is cleared from her path, after retiring against Carol Zhao.
Zhao is thus Laura's R16 opponent.

Katy broke every single one of 3rd seed conqueror You's service games to thrash her 1 & 1 in exactly 1 hour All the protein in those chicken feet (one of my wife's preferred snacks, but unlike Katy, I haven't been converted yet!) and pig's trotters clearly doing her a world of good
Laura is an early break down.
All of the seeds in the top half survived R1 but none of the seeds in the Brits' half did!

Laura should have won that, even post injury she is just a better player. Major frustration loosing to Carol Zhao who is a polymath, part time musician part time tennis player, good college player but never a NCAA threat in part because of a lack of total belief in self, coming back from 5-1 down shows that part of her game is improving or perhaps it's just relative!

That ties Katy's best points haul of the year - matching her QF at the Surbiton $100K.
It's her fifth double digit score of 2017.
On paper, playing WR436 for a place in a $100K SF looks like a good draw, but we saw what Zhang did to Ms. Boulter in R32.
Another win would double the points to 50, so this is a massive match for Katy.
Laura
