Perhaps the MTO in Ms. Murray's singles earlier was significant, as the Murray/Grey partnership have just retired from their doubles SF.
Thus, Harriet and Freya move in to the final, 2-1 RET

A fine win there, Piter has won WTA doubles titles, and Swan/Lumsden brushed them aside and guaranteed us another GB title

Maia is going for a straight hattrick of consecutive doubles titles then, with 3 different partners, and a possible maximum 74 ranking points from these autumn UK ITFs.

Unranked in doubles at the start of the year, she had around 30 points at the start of this series, and could now finish it on over 100 points, around WR460.

Harriet and Freya win 10-6.

Harriet's tenth career doubles title, Freya's 7th.

Harriet, Katie and Maia should all now get new career highs - slight improvements for Katie and Harriet, and a massive leap for Maia.

Judging from the general ebb and flow, that has hallmarks of a fitting and entertaining final.

Well done the winners.

Good to see Freya having decent singles and doubles results in her first few weeks back and as said Harriet will be up to a doubles CH on Monday week, probably in the 270s, and GB #8.

Friedsam is due to play Poland $25k next, but will miss out on an SE as qualifying starts on Sunday.
Let's hope Beth avoids her in qualifying.
