Not there today or for the rest of the week, but a win for Sam over Maia.
Eden looks like taking out Freya and Beth is a break down in the second after winning by bagel

Eden was on match point on her own serve at 5-3 in the 2nd but then lost her serve.

Three out of four pairs in the doubles through to the semi finals. Beth and Sam were pushed very close.

Doubles QF Results

Maia LUMSDEN (GBR) / Katie SWAN (GBR) 3-6 6-1 [10-3] Ana VRLJIC (CRO) / Emily WEBLEY-SMITH (GBR) [4]

Sarah Beth GREY (GBR) / Samantha MURRAY (GBR) [3] 2-6 6-3 [10-8] Anna POPESCU (GBR) / Laura SAINSBURY (GBR)
Freya CHRISTIE (GBR) / Harriet DART (GBR) 6-4 6-2 Laura-Ioana ANDREI (ROU) / Sarah-Rebecca SEKULIC (GER)

Both the top two matches had poor erving percentages in the first set, which must account somewhat for the scorelines

Sam up first, very tough ask, 1-6
And an MTO ensues...

No joy against the Friedsam serve in the first set, but much more competitive in the second 1-6 3-4*

Sam lost 1-6 (4)6-7. When the scoreboard finally worked again I could see that Fridsam served for the match at 6-5 and was broken to love. And she DF on her first match point.
Good second set from Sam, 3 breaks each, and only 3 points in it at the end.

Eden lost in straight sets, so just doubles for interest.

Eden lost 6-4 6-4, which is a pretty good scoreline given the difference in rankings of over 400.

Yes. I'd be inclined to believe that is an encouraging performance. Not only given the rankings gap, but with the opponents ranking being almost 150, that is matching up to a very considerable step up in class from Eden's current level, even if Kerkhove is only in middling form. If the 400 place difference were 1100 to 700, it would still be useful, but the margin there is, I'd say, smaller than from 550 to 150, as it was here.

Only Ms. Dunne in Shenzhen left in the singles then, seems a bit deflating after the heady heights of the multi-title feats of the last two weeks, but I guess we had to come back down to earth.
