Good call from Paulisi re Maia :D
Got Freya v Harriet right too! Bad luck for Harriet but good for Freya that she has carried on from last week's good showing :)

Em wins the first set 7-5

Similar to Piter match a few weeks ago, misses chances to break at start of second. Broken from 40-0 up.

Just broken back

7-5 *3-4

Drops the set 6-3. Similar to Piter match she may rue the opportunities she had to stamp her authority on the match at the start of the second.

Sam takes her opener 7-6(1)

And good for Katie S and EWS, wins for both of then, Emily in 3 sets. Sam Murray now at 1 set all, and Beth in a first set TB.

So 5 GB wins so far, Katie S, EWS, Freya, Maia and Eden.
Sam and Beth both battling and Jodie Anna to come

Oh, and Lesley Kerkhove did win over the former JWR1 Chinese youngster, so paulisi's prediction there was wrong smile

Great third set win for Sam too. So those wins so far:

Freya Christie bt Harriet Dart (8) 6-4 7-5
Emily Webley-Smith beat Kaja Juvan 7-5 3-6 7-5
Katie Swan beat Karen Barritza 7-5 6-2
Maia Lumsden beat Anna Vrljic 6-1 6-3
Eden Silva beat Alicia Barnett 6-3 6-0
Samantha Murray beat Ivana Jorovic (2) 7-6(1) 2-6 6-2

Beth is now a set and a break up and Jodie will follow Sam on court.

We managed one point (Freya winning it as Harriet put a backhand marginally out) before my daughter informed she doesn't like tennis, and we had to leave. Hopefully her attitude will change over the years. Shame, as it's a fine set of results so far.

This late season home series has been marked by a rush of excellent performances and results. The step up to $25K has done litle to stem that.
Super win from Sam, very good ones from Emily, Maia and Sarah Beth. Only the one loss.
Very good work all round.
