Two guaranteed GB qualifiers.

Katie S, Harriet and Freya should be in the main draw. Wildcards look like they have gone to Sam, Maia, Jodie and Eden.

Summer Yardley is the first to go through, comfortably beating the much older Svecova 6-1 6-1.
A good win, although Svecova has been beaten by a few Brits this year already.

Wild card were given to Freya, Maia, Sam and Eden, though it's probable Freya got in direct and Jodie has the redistributed one.

All 14 seeds won. 13 of them in straight sets with a total loss of 50 games. Only Tiffany was stretched..by the very promising Gemma. I'm looking forward to going to Shrewsbury tomorrow to see what should be much closer matches tomorrow.

the youngsters are making a decent fist of the start of their matches:

Hannah McC was a break up on Tess S (seeded 2) but it's now back to 4-4

Summer is 3-3 against the top Q seed, Karen Barritza
