Week 45 - WTA 125K - Hua Hin, Thailand (hard)

I agree. And said so before. Why do you take someone on, have a breakthrough in terms of major shift in ranking, and then let them go almost immediately after?

Disappointing; pity she couldn't quite nail down that second set :(

Naomi and Monique Adamczak (AUS) have won their first round doubles match 7-6(8) 6-3. Face the winner of two Thai pairs next who are still playing.

Good to see the BBC website had a brief story on this event.
Even if it was just one win, it's still officially a SF of a WTA, and anything on the main tour, irrespective of event, tier, or whether it's qualifying/main draw, should elicit some coverage in all major outlets.
Obviously, the same goes for the ATP.
I'd like to believe top tier ITF's would be routinely included, too, but despite the general infrequency of the occurences of all of the above, combined - we don't have that many playing at that level in any given week - that's probably a wish too far at the moment.
Still, getting repeated copy for Anna recently, and now this for Naomi, is baby steps in a useful direction.
