Although when you watch her play given the way she hits the ball her attitude and focus there was a certain inevitability to her success.

This has proved to be our final senior title of the week in what has overall been a very good week for our seniors and juniors, particularly our young senior girls, but not quite the overall titles record breaking week for this year that it certainly threatened to be by Friday night.

GB has finished with 4 senior titles for the 6th time this year, the best being 5 from week 36 including the US Open mixed doubles title. It is a joint best 8 total titles from senior plus junior for the 3rd time this year. It's the second successive week we have had 4 plus 4. Along with additional titles we had 6 non all British final runners up over Saturday and Sunday ( 3 plus 3 ).

I see that for whatever reason Fran was a late withdrawl from the following week's Paraguay 15K ( she was still on the last acceptance list and I see a LL was in the main draw ).

I am sure that she must have fully intended to play again this week having travelled so far and one always has worries for her. But she did complete this tournament and triumphantly so hopefully much more just precautionary and happy with what she achieved here not pushing a not too serious issue.
