Based on their past records and that head to head Fran and Thaisa look very evenly matched.. Fran's impressive jump up the rankings is certainly continuing apace.

Well done Fran

This win means several things:
All the GB singles women that could win today, did win (i.e. only one winner could come from all-GB ties; in the ties that were not all-GB, the GB player prevailed)
This is the first week of 2017 where the women have managed to get 5 players through to singles SF (We previously managed 4 on two occasions, in weeks 12 and 13)
This week is now guaranteed to have more wins from the GB women in singles than there were GB singles womens entries. That will make 3 weeks in a row that the ratio of entries/wins will be >1.00; the first time that has happened this year.
