A non GB game but something of note in the singles Qualifying. Baghdatis signed in and then got beaten in the 2nd Q round by Evan Furness.
Yep, I was following that match, partly because Bet365 were well off kilter, and partly because Evan has got to come over to the dark side at some point. (Mark F, are you listening?)
By my (well, Wikipedia's) calculations, this will be the elder Mr Skupski's 56th time in a Challenger or ATP final. That's (a) very impressive - one can forget just how much he has won over the years and (b) suggests that he must somewhere have a very large trophy case/fireplace/bookshelf ... or room dedicated to the assorted silverware ... and this doesn't even count Futures ....
The younger Mr Skupski is doing very nicely himself on 29 finals in a significantly shorter playing career.
Congratulations to the pair on an excellent win - and good luck in the finals.
