Hope he doesn't rue it, but Ed had 3 Match points (all Advantages, not 3 at once) in 8th game but Freddie hangs on, now Ed serving at *5-3

Doh! Now broken. Got to 30-15 up, then double fault followed by netted volley and wild forehand and its back on serve at 5-4*

Non GB related but I wonder at what point Freddie will shift to doubles full time. His foray back into focused singles hasn't gone very well since winning Wimbledon with Jonny Marray.

Good stuff. Well got the win anyway 

Joe, at a new CH 101, doesn't add any further counting ranking points yet ( his 18th counter is already 15 ) but stays on course for possible top 100 after this week.

It looks from live rankings as if reaching the final and adding 33 (48 - 15) points will be needed and seal that deal.
