And Ryan follows it up with another win for team GB in Egypt.

He won 6-1 7-6(5) - after being 1-5 down in the tie-break, went on to win the next 6 points....

Very good to see from Finn. I note that ever since at least one poster questioned his progress he's really been producing some results. Ahem ...

Further big new CH well in to the top 1000 ( top half 900s ) and provisionally up to GB #24 on 14 points, ahead of Luke Johnson based on less tournaments played. So should certainly be joining the top 25 table. Certainly clicking with performances as well as ranking.

And of course well done to Ryan too, will now already be a new CH in the 600s and up to provisional GB #17 ( Billy Harris, at the QF stage in Greece could pass him by reaching the final there ). Maybe not happened as quickly as some thought might be the case, but still a teenager and very much still developing having followed a very different route to most Brits.

Edit: Err, all the foregoing is true if the boys had just reached the SF stage instead of so far 'just' the QF stage. But let's leave it there for now to save repeating if and when they win their QFs. I assume that CD was agreeing my general sentiments and not my apparent arithmetic ( though actually wrong round thinking )

Yes. I agree.
Also nice to think that this is (presumably) a JTC tournament jaunt - and so Finn, Ryan and Barney are all there, egging each other on. And they're all pretty much exactly the same age and - hopefully - get on well. Makes the whole experience so much easier and the results often reflect that (naturally).

Finn giving the top seed quite a run for his money.

Finn battles to a final set TB despite just winning 3 points on return in the final set. His serve has held up well and he saved the two BPs that he faced. Overall he has taken 2/3 BPs against 2/8 and had overall quite a bit longer service games.

6-3 5-7 6-6

Shame after pushing him so hard, but nevertheless a great performance by the young man this week.

Yes looks a great effort by Finn. The TB was a bit of an anomaly after the rest of the set with Finn's 3 points being on return but losing all 5 of his serve points.

As said by others, what a super effort from Finn (and, yes, Indy, you're really going to have call a few others out for being a little disappointing - it had a brilliant effect )

Ryan was a break up in the first set but ended up in a tie-break - which he lost by a whisker - 8-6

This time Ryan was a break down in the second, ended up in a tie-break - but again lost, 7-3.

But two tie-breaks is a decent effort too.
