The live score page has Olivia as GER with a German flag emblem.

They've done that before. And changed it. And reverted it.
May be she's compulsively addicted to switching nationalities (or perhaps the ITF is just upholding it's fine tradition of Colemanballs).

Yes, and when you click on her name and go to her individual page... there she is listed as GBR.

We've looked into her before and, from recollection, she has Swiss and South African family roots, and British connections, nothing about German though.

Amanda has an opponent now, and not necessarily as easy a match as it first might look. The young Latvian is also JWR 24 at the moment and took out a promising Spanish youngster Cristina Bucsa, WR 422 in the FQR. The good news is that in the second round the winner of this match was due to play the #1 seed, who has just been knocked out.

R1: CARRERAS, Amanda (GBR) 398 v (Q) VISMANE, Daniela (LAT) 1003 17yrs (JCH:24=CR)

Well, that's really unfortunate. Mandy has retired 1-6 0-2 and I really don't think we're going to be seeing her back for a while now. cry  I hope it is not her wrist again, though I suspect it is, and would think it will now take into the new year before she can return again, whilst her ranking continues to plummet too. Unfortunate as this first happened when she was arguably at the peak of her achievements, but fear that might be the best she achieves now. Wrists are ghastly injuries, just ask Laura R and Juan Martin and age unfortunately is no longer really on Mandy's side.  crycry

Keys had wrist surgery and then made the final of the US Open. Our minds are sharpened to wrist injuries because the L.R. case is close to home. The worst type of injury is one that keeps significantly plaguing you, whatever body part it is.

L.R's wrist is fully healed afaik. Unless she has explicitly stated that she can no longer use her wrist like she could before?

Amanda has confirmed that is her wrist again. From twitter and instagram: -

"After a very eventful year, one with many ups and downs I've had to cut short the season due to the wrist injury I sustained in April. I've tried all recovery methods possible but now the only one left is surgery. I will have an operation on the 14th November in Barcelona. I would like to thank my family and coaches ( Albert,Alfred and Ali) for all their support and for putting up with me for the last few months. I would also like to thank all of you who have helped me in some way this year and all of those who constantly support me. I promise to be back even stronger"

I think Delpo has lost power?

Keys post US Open hasn't played much due to a wrist injury - was supposed to play Lux and the Elite Finals.

Gutted to hear. But hopefully it sorts out the problem and she's back.
