Held on to take the second set. A noble account given, but not enough in the MTB.
Hlavackova/Babos, are individually both top doubles players, hence their rankings, and are going to Singapore as a team this year. Anna & Nicole did very well to take a set from them.
2-6 6-3 [3-10]
What a great week though, and a lovely end to the year. So happy for Anna how she's managed to continue a good WTA level career with a second partner - thanks Nicole
Plenty to look forward to in 2018; I'm rather presuming they'll stick together.

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.

And certainly hoping they will stick together having helped each other so they both reach new CHs this week
Now where has Joss got to as was rather hoping she was going to do the same.... (And just to note, since the subject was raised here, Joss's 3 post Wimbledon appearances were all in North America, with Jessica Moore (Aus) as a partner, and included a SF loss in the Washington International, a L16 loss at the Landesville 25k and then a tournament win in the Vancouver 100k. The final win was in mid-Aug, after which Joss hasn't been seen on a tennis court since...
On twitter last week someone posted photos of Joss helping coach on a course for juniors in the UK. Searched but couldn't find it again as it wasn't on her feed.

Could have been any of these, all saying uch the same thing about the event (they liked having Joss there):
This has made me inordinately pleased; it's deserved recognition. If they made it a commentable article, I'd finally create an account to make a post.
The headline while factually correct ( apart from "Nicola" ! ) could have been rather improved on when that final is a WTA Premier final in a MTB against such a highly ranked pair.
Can't have everything I guess, particularly with the BBC website.

Clearly the BBC's love for having a 'Brit loses tennis match' type headline trumped any other considerations here. Still, they didn't say they 'crashed out', thankful for small mercies!
