Semi-bold prediction- Liam will beat cam 6-4 6-4.

Will Cam still be top 30 by the end of next year? Just trying keep track.

That is a great win for Liam! Cam has been playing at such a high level in recent weeks so for Liam to get through in straight sets is very impressive.
He's beaten the best player in the tournament, so no reason he can't kick on and win it now...

Vandenburg, if you don't cut out that kind of personal insult, you're going to get yourself banned at worst or find offending posts deleted at best.

Really pleased as I just think at this stage in their respective careers, Liam needed the win more. Hopefully he can build on this win.

Because you cannot bring yourself to congratulate my insightful tennis predictions you have to threaten to ban me?

Liam takes it!  7-6, 6-4.   Neither player was at their very, very top level . but it was a good spectacle.

I am so pleased for him, and this confirms that Liam is playing at a very high level, his recent good results have not been down to chance.  I so, so hope that Liam backs this up with a couple more wins.

I am  a big fan of Cam's, but I don't think many would doubt that Cam will be a permanent fixture in the top 100 over the next decade.   I just hope that Liam's form continues...

 This.

Dead chuffed for him, will be even more so if he backs it up by going deep this week.

All relative, that's 15 points for 2 wins and a QF. Not bad at all, especially beating Cam.

But that represents 'just' an average counter for Liam  now ( precisely so in the current rankings where he has 270 points from 18 counters ) although that will go up a bit since it's replacing a 5 pointer coming off.

So there is deep and deep and I am sure that Liam has rather loftier ambitions for the week than the QF as he tries to rise as high as he can, having got back into the top 200. A good win for a QF space is hopefully not his week's work done.

I am sure that he will be disappointed if he doesn''t back up today's win.
