The old joke used to be a man found in the Amazonian jungle, and the only English words he knew were "Bobby Charlton". A modern day equivalent would only know Jaggy's views on doubles.

Only difference being my comment is relevant to the situation. Luke Bambridge and Jonny Omara are in my opinion damaging their prospects of being successful at professional tennis by playing doubles. And I will continue to comment where appropriate unless of course it is shunted to its own more appropriate section on the forum, in which case I can avoid it.
It's a perfectly respectable opinion. But once it has been shared with everyone on the forum 25 times, it is unlikely to retain much persuasive power, or indeed power to do anything more than irritate.
Its also a bit daft as to be economically viable at this level the players concerned have to take every opportunity to succeed, doubles offers that and indeed using Jamie as an example make a very decent living. Winning also maintains motivation and keeps them in the singles game for longer, without doubles I am sure some of the boys still playing singles and with a slight chance of winning would have quit. Although most top singles players dont play doubles I think that is more a question of them not needing the money, its more about choices being driven by fiscal reality. This isnt Glasgow wehere the streets are tidy and paved with gold.
