The doubles SFs like the singles SFs will now be held on Sunday. Maybe they were rescheduled once it became clear that no one would be in both singles and doubles SFs. The singles final is on the order of play as TBC vs TBC though not the doubles final, but I assume the plan is to play it too tomorrow.
SF: Berfu Cengiz (TUR) & Katie Swan CR 786 (452+334) vs Emma Laine & Jessy Rompies (FIN/INA) CR 893 (407+486), 31 yo EL has a CH 64 from 2006.
Great result ! And a new career best win (by 2!) against Kuzmova who herself is at a career high of 130
Well the tables show this as a career best, but Katie says it's second best ?
Katie is correct. When she beat Danka Kovinic in QR2 of this years US Open (on 24th August), the Montenegrin was WR106.
I really got egg on my face over that one LOL it just goes to prove that you only need to be lazy once to get caught out.
When I think someone might have taken a career best scalp, I first check on Helen's list, since that's the quickest way to avoid further investigation if it definitely isn't one. However, I know she hasn't had much time recently so might have missed one or two (which doesn't stop it being a fantastic resource, of course - just slightly more dangerous to use as the only source than it used to be), so I then tend to skim back over the player's results for the previous year or so to make sure.
I was in a hurry today so for the first time in ages, I skimped on that second step. I was also on this forum at the time, and the addict's post gave me a false sense of security, which was incredibly stupid of me, given that most people on here probably base statements like that on Helen's list so it wasn't really independent corroboration at all ... never mind the fact that the win against Kovinic was so recent (and such a big deal at the time) that I should have remembered it anyway!

Well the blob's excel file with all this year's matches seems to be the second source of info you need to be able to check steven, if he is able to make that accessible...

You will need a full version of Excel 2013 or later. It does not work at all in Google Sheets, Open Office, or the online versions of Excel.
Green Tab is the data for matches, which reads from 4 or 5 other tabs as well as the static data there. Events and entries are on a separate tab, and rankings on other tabs. There are several tabs doing pivot tables and charts 'usefully' tracking the data in various ways: 'Pivots', 'GB Top 10's', 'Rough Pivots' One Tab looking at each pllayer week by week: Activity Tracker
Everything is automatically calculated everytime you change anything. The brilliant upshot of this is that it almost certainly crashes your computer every key you press, unless you turn this feature off! But, enjoy!

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
Tennisabstract ( www.tennisabstract.com/ ) is very good for checking things like this, and much else besides. However, it doesn't include qualifying matches for low level ITF's, and so a career high earned in that sort of match won't be registered.
Which is why Helen's file is so marvellous. I have often just taken it as gospel, like Steven did on this solitary occasion.
The old fashioned journalistic advice still holds though: Always check your sources
The absence of those ITF Q matches on Tennisabstract is why I started recording matches this year. I just wanted to see a full picture of a year. I doubt I'll do it next year, as I don't have the skill to manage it and organise it efficiently.

Katie lost in 3 but a great week and definite progress. It'll be brilliant to see her in qualiies at the Australian Open and hopefully, qualies for some WTA tourneys too.
Going into the final game they had won a grand total of 3 points on return in the match (3/31). Then from 15-40* they won the next 2 points to double their total return points to 6, obtain their first BP and threaten the most unlikely of come-backs. Killer deuce swiftly killed all that off.

Thanks, just downloaded it and only had time for a quick look so far - there's far too much to take in with a quick skim but it looks like lots of very useful data that you've produced some worthwhile stats from.

Yes, and likewise, I've only had a quick look too.... And you're right blob it is a very large file, but with a great deal of information across all the folders, and it will take time to absorb how it all works!
