That was the match Naomi dreams about playing; both in terms of her own brilliant performance, and also her opponent's low first serve percentage and soft errors on break points.

I'll start with the negatives. Naomi made 4 unforced errors on 2nd serve returns, though she was trying to be aggressive and managed to dominate 2nd serve points when she did land her return. She also made a few ground-stroke errors that might have proved costly in a closer contest and a rather short lob that TM put away with a smash.

The positives. First serve was excellent. In the opening set it wasn't earning her many aces or unreturned serves but for once her execution was near perfect on her first ground-stroke. Every smash, volley and drive volley was successful. 2nd set plenty of aces and unreturned, only lost 2 service points, both after Naomi tried to hit an aggressive shot off a deep return. On 2nd serve Naomi appeared to vary the direction more than usual, landing one 2nd serve ace. Three brutal backhand passes that Tatjana couldn't get near.
