From 1-1 Katy went out to a 4-1 lead, including a run of 12 points out of 14. Then there was a MTO, and on the resumption, Bejenaru got it back to 4-4. But a hold and a break by Katy saw her through 2-6 7-5 6-4 in 2 hours 28 minutes.
Very tricky task next, 16 year old JWR 12 Simona Waltert, who I have heard the Swiss call, 'like Belinda [Bencic], except, you know, good'. Bencic at that age was actually much better, but the fact that the comparison stands at all is warning enough.

Yeah, the swiss women have an amazing system in place at the moment, producing a dozen or so real superstar potential players, all from a tiny population. We could learn from them. Anyway, today, Waltert was much much too good for Ms. Dunne, although Katy did fail to take her chances (2-6 on BP v. the Swiss 7/11) 1-6 2-6
