Beth storms through the second set in 22 minutes to win 6-2 6-0

That's a new career best win, and will be a new career high as well when the points go on.

Really pleased for her - what a run of results - so clearcut.

May this be the turning point for her to really make a run on the top 500 as she's always been capable of.

 Beth is really going from strength to strength at the moment, that is some win! smile Her serving stats were very strong and she did not lose a break all match and only had 2 BPs against.

I saw that Beth was training with Katy Dunne at Halton last week, I'm sure that helped her confidence no end.

Two career best wins this week for the GB ladies, following on from Ms. Appleton's result in South Carolina.
Quite some way for Ms. Grey to match the feat.

Superb stuff from Beth well done.

I think she'd actually been pretty sure of going to a CH already ( I'd forgotten the extra qualifying point ) but clearly we can take full credit for today since by casting any doubt about that she felt that she better win again. And how though!

The new CH 300 win takes out her WR 351 win from Edgbaston in February and her own new CH ( so far ) will be well into the top 700, maybe into the top 680. Basically up about 100 places. On a domestic level it will take her up to GB #19.

Good stuff. I think these two may be pals anyway. I recall that Beth was hanging around with Katy and also in the picture when Katy 'outed' Steven

Beth and Karen (ITF CR 463+464 ! = 927) underway against the top seeds (CR 95+330 = 425).

And they win 3-3 retired !
