Olivia Nicholls withdrew from singles qualifying on Wednesday which would appear to put doubt in her playing doubles with Beth. And I did read that they were planning on a number of 25Ks together.
Just to give the French domestic info about the three French players above:
Droguet is your typical youngster (age 14) - played a huge number of matches in the last 12 months (52 victories, 28 defeats). Mainly against youngsters obviously but not all. Didn't manage a win in the nationals. She's ranked -4/6.
Lou Adler has been having a good year, ranked -15 - lots of victories, quite a few against better players, she thrashed Droguet (1&0) when they played, had a very good run at a recent big money tournament in September.
Vulpio is -2/6, the weakest on paper, partly because she hasn't been playing much domestically, but doing a lot of 15ks, without too much success. (Although she too had a good run at a (different) decent money tournament a couple of weeks ago, beating Greg Barrere's sister, amongst others). Also lost to Adler.
Adler is definitely the best of the three - hope Em is firing on all cylinders.
If Droguet's win was Excellent, by virtue of beating the fantastically monikered, Heranne Excellent; then that amkes Sam's win, Droguet.
As 'Droguet' is a woolen type of fabric, I'm not sure what exactly that tells us.
Nevertheless, well done Ms. Murray on your big fluffy snuggly win, and progression in to the main draw; wherein, if the chips fall correctly, she could have a (T)handi win there too!
