The generally glum week for the GB women continues with the latest from SC, as Ms. Appleton succumbs to the sixth seed, 5-7 2-6

Ms. Appleton and American partner, Caty, team up to easily make the SF 6-1 6-1
Routine enough, $15K doubles. The interest comes as the team they beat contained a former doubles WR11 (and WR19 in singles) in the form of now 33 year old Alona Bondarenko.

Laura D's team plays later, and if they prevail, they will face Emily for a place in the final.
