I agree totally with Indiana - don't have a problem supporting any Brit but Brydan does himself no favours with his on-court antics

Fair do's on this to all who commented. I guess I am with Indy, support all the Brits, dont necessarily like them! Anyway, to more important things, Neal Skupski can get to a career if he wins his doubles semi,I believe, good luck to him today although there will be a Brit finalist whatever.

Brydan has had his issues but seems to have reined them in always interested to see how he does for that reason. Definitely not perfect but seems to be doing his best. Obviously much more time for Cam who has trodden his own interesting path through development, which has been really interesting to follow.

there's the break - regularly happens that when a player saves so many break points, they go and break next game.

Not quite sure how Cam pulled that one round from 0-3 in the second. Not at his best again, but still too good for Sandgren.

Two unheard of players of differing nationality facing off against each other, I will support the one with GBR next to their name.

But if i learn of something that turns me off them, then i don't support said player, GBR or not.

Player with a future in the top 100 won.  There is going to be a nationwide egg shortage as 90% of the forum will have egg on their face when Cam wins this challenger, and he will then make the AO direct.

Quality tennis from Cam, he deserved the W.   A hard fought victory.  Tennys may have been carrying a leg injury, but I don't think it affected the result.

Good to see, Cam keeping it going very well

If he was to win another title here he would move to 512 points. With 30 points in total to come off beforehand, that would be a guaranteed 482 points by 04/12, the Aussie Open MD cut-off date. That in itself would be currently equivalent to WR 118 and maybe about 50 points off the MD ( currently WR 104 has 533 points ).

So essentially although still maybe live over 100 points off, winning this tournament would roughly half that. Certainly will now at the very least be seeded in Aussie Open qualifying, and let's hope for better than that.

Vandy, pet, 100% of this forum will be DELIGHTED if Cam wins the challenger and makes the AO direct.

Agreed but always quite amusing to learn about these mysterious silent majorities and 90% of the forum  biggrin

Note, as I said, it would be win this tournament and then later make the Aussie Open MD direct. The first would not immediately bring the second although it would be very helpful and extremely pleasing in itself.

A SF win and Cam will go points leader bar none in GB men's ranking points added since the start of July. Would move him from 370 to 392 points in just over 3 months. Yes, such as Kyle has been playing with greater jeopardy on the ATP tour and in truth his own 380 points over the period are relatively not too bad. But still in itself some achievement and great consistency.

And now a repeat of last week's quarter-final:

SF:  (3) Michael Mmoh (USA) WR 156 (CH = 141 last month) vs (8) Cameron Norrie WR 136

Mmoh defeated that dangerous floater, Tursunov (Q), by 6-3 retired.
