IF the Skupski's win this weeks event, Neal could reach a new career high ranking around 60. And he could also go ahead of Dom IF Dom doesnt win his next match in Chengdu. Hopefully all can win but it highlights how Neal is pressing on and how Dom maybe needs to capture some form back over this back end of the season in what has been a generally disappointing season for him.
Yes, I had noticed that Neal could nip just ahead of Dom in the rankings this week, having gone a bit ahead of Ken in the rankings with a few relatively successful dalliances with other partners. Mainly though it has been a Skupskis joint success, notably at Wimbledon.
As you say hopefully not this week, purely because that involves Dom not winning a further match. Hopefully both him and the Skupskis have good weeks and Neal 'just' achieves a new CH. Dom though is dropping a 90 pointer next week against a 25 pointer from Neal so the GB #2 takeover may still be in the offing.
This tournament has one of the strongest singles draws I've seen outside the second week of a Slam, including Mahut, Herbert, Benneteau, Gulbis, Zeballos, Kukushkin, etc. But because Mahut, Herbert and Benneteau are too highly ranked, they can't play doubles - for which the other doubles players are no doubt grateful!

Hi - just wondered what this meant??! Is there a rule over doubles rankings in 250 level events? Genuinely, never heard of it if there is but that is quite probably my being unaware!?
This is a Challenger, not a 250. But your comment makes the point precisely - the singles field looks like a 250 field, not a Challenger field. Players ranked 1 to 10 are prohibited from playing in Challengers. As I recall it, 11 to 50 can accept WCs but can't enter directly.
Sorry, i did realise that, for some reason I hadnt checked the tournament title on this thread and, as you say, with the field I assumed it was a 250. I guess it is obvious but I knew that top 50 rule applied to singles players but hadnt realised it would also apply to doubles players - I bet the organisers had wished there was a way around that rule?
