I make it that Cam has 33 points to defend this year. Therefore probably needing to earn 166ish points to finish inside the top 100. Which is another two Challenger titles. Possible but will be hard.

I wondered at so many but I see the live ranking #100 points have jumped up quite a bit from the existing WR 100 so fair dos. WR 100 will be a bit variable.
Of course WR 100 on 04/12 would no doubt be Aussie Open main draw entry. Now that really would be getting greedy, but just saying ...
Cam's ability to keep the ball in court is terrific and he is winning the longer points.
Bar the double faults another outstanding performance. Sandgren is top 100 and Cam was far superior.
I noticed in a previous match ( I missed this one ) that he has very good hands. The number of what were potentially very difficult half volleys that he without much fuss got back with good depth was very impressive.
He can kind of go missing for short periods, but yes most of the time he is really good at consistently getting the ball back in court and to good length.
At the moment it certainly seems to be about when Cam cracks the top 100, rather than if.
Of what I believe will be 422 counting points as of tomorrow, Cam has earned 337 of those in the last 3 months alone. Thats actually only a couple of dozen short of Kyles haul over the same period (meant as a compliment to Cam, not a dig at Kyle).
Cams progress right now is very exciting indeed, and (getting ahead of myself but hey ho) I look forward to seeing what he can do on the main tour next Spring/Summer if not before.
Absolutely fantastic result for Cam, I have every faith he will cruise into the top 100 soon.
In terms of understanding Kyles relatively poor points haul in comparison since dominating futures 18 months ago, it is much harder to generate points playing exclusively on the ATP tour, to win a first round match you have to beat someone of the quality of Tennys Sangren who as it happens has never won an ATP match! Similarly Kyle at the end of the US Open was the highest ranked player not to have an ATP tournament. Not a bad objective for 2018!
