The result by Sophia Whittle is pretty astonishing.
OK, so she's been playing college ball at Gonzaga, with a decent, but hardly stellar record.
Still, from that, to defeat WR114, Abanda, in your first ITF match ever, Junior or Senior, 2 & 3, is extraordinary, no matter how bad Abanda may or may not have been.
Well done her, and may Ms. Robson swiftly ensure the story, at least for this week, ends there.

You've got to imagine Laura barring a complete disaster should come through this ok. She seems to be a confidence player ever more so now these days at challenger level so a fortunate draw could prove to be the turning point on pushing on back up the rankings.
