Golding has a main draw wildcard alongside, I assume, Finn Bass, Aidan McHugh and Anton.

Not the easiest place for foreigners to get to, hence the weak draw.

Anton is in the quali draw.

I was wondering if George L got one possibly.

Also, can't remember if Luke O has used his yet.

And am sure that Josh Goodall hasn't used his one yet, although he's got longer to do so - would be nice to see him and Oli both in the main draw smile

Wins for Kyle F, Jack Draper, George Davies, Barney Smith, Ed H and Jack Gibbens.

Shame that Andy Roz. lost in a third-set TB to the Italian.

So, I make that in the FQR we have NINE juniors :

Three born in 2001, of which two of them still only 15: Jack D, Alex S and Anton
One born in 2000 : Tad
Five born in 1999: Josh R, Max S, Barney Smith, Michael Shaw, David Stevenson

Very good to see.

Also, seven guaranteed GB qualifiers (and reasonable chance for all eight - go, Barney !)

Barney Smith does the business and puts out the German !!!

Interestingly, in the battle of the two 2001 tiddlers, Anton beats Jack Draper 6-2 6-2

Well done to 17 year-old Tad Maclean who beats Max Stewart. First time in the MD, I'm pretty sure, for Tad.

Congrats too to Josh Rose. As said, glad he got a good draw.

Isaac, Mason, Tommy B and Rob Carter also win.

So EIGHT qualifiers

Good call that George Loff got a wildcard

One for youngster Harry Wendelken too. And Aidan.

As well as Oli (although he's drawn his victor from last week, Catarina - ouch !

The draw is now out and Oli Golding does have a WC. BUT oh so typically and unfortunately has been drawn in the first round against Lucas Catarina (MON), now #3 seed, who put him out at Roehampton.

Let's just hope that hurricane Catarina has blown itself out.

Hope I'm not repeating everything of CD, but that's a huge pity for Oli, as although Tom is playing too, he is/was arguably our best chance of a winner. Guess it's going to be a big match one way or another.

Here are a few stand out ties.

Josh Rose v Anton Matusevich
Harry Wendelken v Tom Farquharson
Rich G v Billy H - think they played doubles together last week.

At least Oli will be more rested against Caterina this time rather than playing him on his 10th successive competition day.

Yes bit pity he didn't get an easier draw but whatever happens tomorrow he will still over time surge up the rankings if he wants to commit to it. Be interesting anyway.

Once Tom is on a bit of a roll I think I might take him over a still early days Oli at this stage if they were to meet here. Certainly not one I think would be a clear call.

I presume the courts at the Tarka Centre are fast which might help Oli as he was complaining at Riehampton about how difficult it was to put the ball away on the slow high bouncing acrylic.
