Great win (and 1 point) from Olivia, especially as she is the lowest ranked of our four players.

And yes pity that after winning last week with Olivia, Alicia ends up this week with no doubles partner. EWS is with Sofia Shapatava (GEO) and they are the #4 seeds.

3 & 4 isn't a bad score at all against Friedsam, especialy as Beth managed two breaks of serve in the first set.

Whilst checking when the doubles is due to start today (Beth and Olivia due on court next), I noticed on the singles MD that Friedsam is through to play Dalma Galfi [2], with a possible QF opponent of Belinda Bencic, who won the $100k in St Petersburg last week, her first tournament since April.

 Crazy how stacked and tough this draw is for a 25k. A well earned 1 point for Olivia you'd have to say.

And BTW, Bencic won 6-1 6-1 in 52 minutes - she'll be back on the main tour in no time.
