I think we should ( and will be very surprised if we don't ) go with 2 specialist doubles players apart from Andy if all are available. Well two specialist doubles players in the five man team whatever. You've then still got 3 for 2 singles spots and an option re going with or without Andy in the doubles. I would expect that with a perfectly fit Andy, just more so if he is not that long back, good to play but to an extent still relatively finding his way again. The 5th man in the team just helpfully renders obsolete the old 2nd doubles specialist or 3rd singles player question.
So probably Jamie plus another doubles player and probably Cam vs Evo, dependant on how Evo has come back and he would probably have to show a lot in a relatively short time. Would be tough to drop Cam, but I think Mr Pragmatic Smith would do it if he thought it best for the tie and how he has said that he certainly would be prepared to pick Evo on his return.
7 months to go yet though, and the proverbial water and bridge to have their time.
If come the tie, Andy's physicality is delicate, then Leon could potentially only field him in the doubles, since he is by far the strongest option to accompany Jamie. This would be a bold move of course. But in the meaningful sense of the word, how many doubles specialists have we got that are relevant at this WG level. From what I have seen, Dom has put in as many disappointing performances as he has decent ones. So I don't rate him as someone that particularly helps us win doubles matches. Next time around I'd rather see Kyle or Cam accompanying Jamie than Dom. Dom Inglot has a got a big serve and a bunch of fluctuating weaknesses. I don't rate him at all at the net, or in handling pressure moments. That said, I think his personality is good for the team and I'd definitely continue to invite him to be around for ties even if he's not playing.

This is the way I see it as well, given injuries and the need to protect Andy from playing all 3days play in the future. I just haven't seen enough from Dom there this wkend, although he did perform in Serbia and Canada, I know. Depends on the surface of course but the Murray Bros are so strong in the dubs, pretty much as good as there is out there when they play, almost a banker.. I'd sacrifice Andy for Cam on Clay or maybe Evo on Hard. That way Leon would have the option to play Andy in the 5th rubber on day3 if required, what a backup plan.. Ok it really depends on day1 opponents, clay in Argentina would be the grueller tie for us I suppose looking at potential opponents but with Kedders and Cam able to perform on the dirt and everyone fit, this could still be a cracking option now. Cam really has opened up GB options.
If Andy is in the team for doubles and not singles ( or at least not day one singles ) fair enough we can go without a second doubles specialist
If he is in the team for day one singles I would have two doubles specialists, certainly rather than have say Kyle or Cam being considered as doubles options.
I didn't myself mention Dom in my last post, just probably Jamie and another doubles specialist. But if Andy is playing day one singles then yes two doubles specialists and if Dom is considered best as one of these fair enough.
I get it Indy yes, there are several options now and a few months out, who the hell could call which players will be fit, in form, surface, home or away.. Now we have a few singles options our focus is shifting to the dubs, our weakest link last wkend. I don't have much of an idea outside of the Murray's but I can't help thinking that Jay would be awesome with Jamie and worth a punt at some point if Andy not available, which lets face it could be highly likely for a WG play off..
Deadly serious more talented doubles player does not exist in England - he beat former wimbledon doubles champs and unbeaten playing with me lol
doubles champs in 2017
Your off your rocker! Seriously come on... You cant go on a one off past result regardless of how impressive it was... Thats like saying James Ward should still be playing singles for his win over Isner. I admire your passion for Marcus but my good lord its annoying as hell. Lets also not forget that Jay was his partner in that upset and arguably the better of the two.

Keep an eye on the World Uni Games Medalists Johnson/Findel-Hawkins who beat Willis/Pauffley at Loughborough yesterday. Both 23 years old and on the way up.
Anybody who thinks Marcus Willis should be playing DC obviously didn't see his performances at Loughborough this week.
A lack of effort / intensity (as usual), most serves just been plopped in and his answer to any sort of tricky situation is to chip/lob the ball into the corner of the court where as often or not it goes long/wide. He still has limited tactical awareness and his game as well as his ranking is regressing. Only the grass court season can save his skin now.
I suppose the sycophantic Marcus brigade will never abate. You can kid yourselves, I really don't care.
Jamie and Dom are clearly not comfortable playing together, the understanding is not there and the body language poor. This could possibly be changed with them playing together more but this won't happen while Jamie is Bruno.
Please don't forget that they lost to two vastly superior tennis players on sunday, no surprise for there.
