I suppose ultimately it was a big match for Liam, but a routine contest for Mannarino.

I didn't want to jinx Liam before the match by saying this, but I feel that Liam has a good record against left handers and I thought he had a chance today given his recent form. Having said that, his form against right handers hasn't been too shabby recently either.

Liam. What a top effort. So happy for you. I know how much hard work you put in and it is fantastic to see it paying dividends.

We won't go into what I predicted for Liam ! But it is great to see a Brit ( and Liam seems a great guy too ) do so much better than I expected. Well done !!

Certainly that's Aussie Open qualifying absolutely sealed, onward to sealing top 200.
