I guess we had to expect that after Oli's long absence the number of matches he has recently played would catch up. Hope he ends up deciding to play a full schedule though.
A bit of a disastrous end to a less than great day for the Brits in singles here - Romain Bauvy (FRA) WR 987 (CH 882 in 2015) comes from a set down & 4 match points down to upset 6th seed Marcus 2-6 7-6(6) 6-1

Ah drat re Marcus. Maybe not a great day indeed but although we clearly expect that bit more in home futures I actually think a Marcus win would have made the day at the very least OK, arguably in credit not just in numbers, so not too bad either.
In the 5 matches between Brits and peskies we won 2, Tom and Richard vs seeds and lost 3, Oli and Ryan to seeds ( and I didn't see Oli's defeat as a great shock given the relative opposition at this stage for Oli and his own tenth succesive day of matches, even without maybe an issue with that MTO ). 6th seed Marcus's defeat was the disappointment for me, especially very clearly with how it unfolded ( actually the only significant one for me, though I had hopes for Oli and Ryan and maybe others had more expectation for Oli, indeed Ryan too ).
Add another encouraging performance from Finn and not so bad with 4 in the last 8.

The young pairing of Josh Rose and Barnaby Smith beat Neil P and Jonathon G in a match most notable for a rare 10-0 in the MTB. I doubt that happens very often.
Good to see Oli in particular still going pretty strong at the end and something out of the day for the pair although not the main event.
Yes. The MTO was either for the other guy. Or wasn't too serious.
Either way is good.
And, yes, Catarina has had some excellent results recently (and only lost in a third-set TB last week) so, like you, I don't see this result as a surprise at all.
(Marcus' one, however, is )
So, finally, we've got two Brits in the top half, and two in the bottom. No youngsters this time; indeed, apart from Lloyd who is a relative newcomer, it's the old stalwart brigade - Neil, Rich and Tom F.
