(Tiran is born Dec. 28th 1998, so practically still a junior)
But a couple of worrisome retirements, especially from poor Evan Hoyt, who won the first set so must have been in a bad way to have to retire shortly afterwards.

And although Anton Mat. lost, it was a very close score and against the guy who made the quarters in Nottingham, beating Billy Harris and Luke Johnson.

So what's the drill for going to watch this event? The NTC doesn't look the most welcoming of places to Joe Public, can I just stroll in?

It isn't but as far as I know, you can get in to watch the pro events there (hopefully someone who has actually done it will confirm later but I don't know how soon you need to leave so thought I'd better say something) - just say you're there to watch the Futures event if anyone asks. Have a good day there!

I've been to watch this event in the past, and yeah you can literally just stroll in. Just ask at the reception desk (and I think sign the guestbook) the way to the outdoor hard courts where the futures is being held, and they'll point you in the right direction.

Yes. I've been several times. You sometimes need to press the buzzer and announce yourself at the gates (if they're shut). But just say you're there for the ITF event and it's fine. And, yes, reception need you to sign in and (I think) take a sticker thingy.
It sounds a bit OTT but actually they're friendly enough, and there's no question that it's open to the public, so there's never any issues (although with the Parson's Green bomb and all the press, I would reckon they're going to be extra vigilant).
Definitely worth going - you have good viewing access to all the courts, grassy bank to sit on for the far ones, catering used to be highly dodgy but it was better last time, you often get to see a lot of other players (probably not this week but I've seen Hev there, wandering around, supporting, also Tara, Alex Ward, the top juniors etc. etc.).
NB Never been there when the weather was dodgy so not sure about the protocol for when it rains (they've lots of indoor courts of course, but I don;t know about public viewing).

Last week, we had 7 brit qualifiers (with a good chance for 8) This week we've got 7 max, with 5 guaranteed, and Tiran and Jack being the two with an outside chance of adding to the tally (Tiran playing the 3rd seed American (tough ask), and Jack the eighth seed Israeli)

Does anyone know what time play will finish tonight? I could go and watch my first ever live futures matches after work!
Not wishing to put you off, but order of play suggests it will be all done by 5/6pm this evening, given the am start and relatively few matches on each court
I'm pleased to see that Oli got the job done without any drama. I may go on Thursday and/or Saturday. I went a couple of yrs ago when Quentin Halys beat Dan Evans in the final.
Brilliant result for young Jack Draper - I had a feeling that he might pull one off here (but that Tiran would struggle). He's only 15 but put out the guy ranked 1147 with bakery products !!! :
