Excellent !

In fact, these home ITF events are getting better and better

(LTA, are you paying attention????)

Lloyd last week; Tom this week; Luke Johnson twice runner up in the doubles; Oil runner-up......

Barnstaple, over to you !

And, yes, let's hope we see more of Tom - these past few few months have seen a welcome return (he was coaching in Belgium before I remember). Great stuff.

Add: Shhh, all I've gleaned, apart from the coaching in Belgium for a while, was that he was also involved with his brother, Alexander. Sandy Farq. is a tennis coach and businessman; he was based in the Middle East as a tennis coach for a while. And both brothers have a strong attachment to a club in France - Tom lived and trained out there for a while, as a teenager, and plays team tennis for them, usually, even when not playing ITFs. (Think Sandy was a coach there too for a while). Sandy seemed to then move back to the UK and have various tennis things going on and I understood that Tom was involved there (but might be wrong, or it might have been very temporary/part-time/whatever). Don't know about any injuries, don't think so. Only seen Tom play once but it was very good - very 'clean', as the French would say. He seemed completely apart from all the other Brits though (and there were tons), very noticeable, although maybe a one-off thing.

Brilliant - is that Toms first futures title?

4th - he won 2 in 2014 and one a couple of months ago in Ireland.

The recent Ireland one, of course, was a 25k too - which is especially nice.

Tom also played all the team matches in France this season (May/June), being instrumental in getting his team promoted up into nationals form pre-nationals. (He probably got paid for that too, although it's not definite - some clubs don't pay that much and Tom has a long-standing relationship with the club where he trained and lived for a while so he may have been happy to do it for just expenses, and may have used it as part of an extended training period out there).

(Priesty - that's not the first time I've done that, either.... cry)

Great for Tom, well done. Does anybody on here know too much about him? I remember him winning a couple of ITF's (2014) but then he seemed to dissappear a bit. Though not done too much this year he's done enough for another couple of titles......is he likely to be around more full time now???

So the answer from the horse's mouth (thank, London tennistubes) is that Tom's been out for a while, doing other stuff, including studying for a Business degree in Amsterdam.

He's now living, and training, in Amsterdam but has put his studies on hold for a while to give tennis a bit more attention.

Which is all great news for us (and Bob's top 500 which should be very quickly on Tom's radar if he's playing).
