Jo not remotely solid anywhere really today. Definitely in a bit of a funk, but perhaps that's not unexpected. She's ridden the crest of the wave for so long there had to be a rougher patch on the cards.
She's trying hard, but no edge.
Season is effectively over, treading water, unless something magically clicks. Even then enough players around her are playing well enough to have it not make much of a difference, especially with so many points to come off.
Zhuhai again, but Singapore looks a long way away. Probably end the year out of the top 10, too.
None of which is any criticism, or diminshment of her achievements. Still been an amazing year.
As often happens, a big run at a home slam, and everything off court that accompanies it, whacks your gyroscope out of alignment, and you need some time to remember how to navigate again.
Hope I'm wrong, but no breath held.

With everything going so well for her, there is always the inevitable dip. At least it was close. I will say her 1st serve % is becoming a bit of a concern though, I don't know if I'm just imagining things but it seems to have become a struggle these last few months. Just 48% today, not great for a serve that good.
