Hopefully heading for an err interesting SF of Luke & David vs Brydan & Joe.

 And yes smile

Joe and Brydan were 4-2 up in the MTB. Then 7-9 down. Saved two match points. Brydan double-faulted on their first MP. (And didn't play that well). Houdini point at 11-11 gave them another MP. And Joe, calm and playing well throughout, did the business.

In the other, Luke and Dave O won their MTB 10-4

Good work all around on the doubles. I am slightly confused on the rankings, which should suggest an inverse seeding. Either way, would we not have given a great deal to see three GB players - all new and several quite young - inside the top 200 playing each other?

And good luck to Mr Ward. Denis Kudla is a tough, but not impossible draw.

The seedings are based on the rankings from the previous Monday 11/09, which is normal. From then it was Luke & David CR 295 (147+148) vs Brydan & Joe CR 286 (167+119).

Some nasty unforced errors, in particular early on, cost Alex that set.

Down 3-6.

I'm not watching, but from the scores this looks like Alex is having to fight for every point.
Managing to keep himself in it though, hope he can pull it off in the third!

Takes the second set and breaks to start the third.

3-6 6-4 *1-0

Has taken 2/5 BPs in the match compared to Kudla's 2/16 ( though most of the saved BPs were ultimately to no avail in the first set, 2/12 BPs taken by Kudla in that set, 0/4 in set 2 where Alex was 1/1 ).

Couple of real clutch points at 4-1, with one beautiful rally that Alex won at deuce, and some big serves to save break points.

*5-2
