On the final day of the US Open, both Alfie Hewett and Andy Lapthorne were put to the test in their respective singles finals.
19-year-old Hewett was up first in the men's wheelchair singles and faced France's Stephane Houdet. Despite levelling the match to force a third and decisive set, the Frenchman proved resilient and sealed a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 victory.
